Bound to screw a few things up. I enjoy the discussion that is ofeten bypassed nowadays.

Jason
IIIJay21https://www.blogger.com/profile/13800050699809897529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5675454736233343810.post-38563375436583861782009-04-11T06:16:00.000-07:002009-04-11T06:16:00.000-07:00Agree with the Statist 'America' commenter -- Stat...Agree with the Statist 'America' commenter -- Statism is just modern Fascism with a happy face.

History shows that the various forms of Marxism, of which Statism is a flavor, have killed over 100 million people in the 20th century. Some success.

“Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace.” — James Madison

We are down to one, with the tyranny of the Statist majority on the march.10ksnookerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13432559078921206197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5675454736233343810.post-87120436838696173432009-04-11T05:41:00.000-07:002009-04-11T05:41:00.000-07:00Jason,The only quibble I have with your point is a...Jason,

The only quibble I have with your point is a minor one. The current state of the country is a Statist (or "Anti-Federalist") government, not a "Federalist" government. The terminology can be a bit confusing at times, I grant you.

Federalism is a system whereby the majority of power rests at the State level, not the Federal level. If you think about Federalism more in terms of "confederation", it will make things clearer.

Good discourse. Keep up the good work.

Pax,

Newbius

|||Newbiushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09501998014769060130noreply@blogger.com
