Heros

(img. http://militarymotivator.blogspot.com/ )
"We can't all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by."- Will Rogers

While getting caught up on my reading it occurred to me, in all of this celebration recently (July 4, Heller vs. DC, The Freedom March) one very important aspect of American life has received very little attention from me, the American Soldier. Right now many of our fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters are fighting and some dying in over 140 countries across the globe. No matter what your thoughts are on any of the current “occupations, wars, conflicts, or security measures” remember, THEY are the ones in the front. They are the ones giving all so we sit can on our cans, have our Starbucks, shitty traffic and our Blogs, saying what we want when we want. Since any time in my memory the American Soldier has been a faceless, colorless hero in my eyes. I have fond memories of veterans, some disabled, some not, some old, and some young. I remember as a child that family friends who were veterans seemed to stand a little taller, and approach life with a more direct certainty. I know now that my forms of “hero worship” lead to the haloesque glow of these people, but even as an adult, I still hold the American Soldier in a special place. Because I was remiss in including you in recent writings let me say “thank you” to every Sailor, Soldier, Airman, and Marine from the American Revolution through today and beyond.

Gratia,
Jason

Apathy?

Was speaking with a friend the other day. For all intensive reasons consider him educated and competent with what "they" are doing in the background. We were speaking mainly of the SPP, and the NAU, which all seemed to lead to the Bill of Rights and my rantings of sovereignty of te states. The conversation was going well until we hit a snag. Apathy, Websters defines this as "without feeling, from a- + pathos emotion".

The reason I bring this up is that it is a common theme among people I meet, and speak with. I can justify people who "follow the light" then live in the shadows. But to choose, beyond reason, to live under oppression because "it is what it is". I do not understand the process of thought that leads only to greater oppression, only to darker shadows.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

Above I Linked to "wikipedia" for 2 reasons: 1- a ton of links for further research, 2- so some would say it is "conspiracy theory web rantings.

Well here is the explanation of the SPP from non other the the US Department of Commerce:

and here is the "official .gov" site

Ain't that a bitch.

See they try to say that these 2 acronyms are not the same.

Union:1 a: an act or instance of uniting or joining two or more things into one: as (1): the formation of a single political unit from two or more separate and independent units.

Partnership:1: the state of being a partner : participation 2 a: a legal relation existing between two or more persons contractually associated as joint principals in a business b: the persons joined together in a partnership3: a relationship resembling a legal partnership and usually involving close cooperation between parties having specified and joint rights and responsibilities

Double bitch.

"Anyone who tells you that "It Can't Happen Here" is whistling past the graveyard of history. There is no 'house rule' that bars tyranny coming to America. History is replete with republics whose people grew complacent and descended into imperial butchery and chaos."-Mike Vanderboegh

Read more from him here and here.

I don't know, so I'll add another acronym to the alphabet soup WTF?

Sempris Confusus

We have forgotten the face of our fathers,....again

The good Reverend writes of the FISA fiasco here
I debated not only going silent on this issue, but in general. Thanks to the "fear" in the government, HR1955, and the recent changes to the Posse Comitatus Act, HR5122, together re-writing of the Insurrection Act, gives the Fedearl Government the legal authority to declare martial law, is now an accomplished fact. These are the "3 Strikes" and the Constitution is OUT.
The bad news is that I, a patriot, citizen, and lover of my country, could be considered a "homegrown domestic terrorist"(their words not mine) and subject to true terrorism by my fellow country men.
I only hope we may remeber the face of our fathers

The good news, ...

Might Be Moving "SOONER"

Passed in the Oklahoma senate by 92-3, the State has invoked "sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States"

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=67229

Finally, one of the groups comprimised "of the people" have finally attempted to tell the Feds, they work FOR us, not the other way around.

Not sure how it took me this long to find it but kudos to the OK state.

An Open Letter

Due to the reluctance of the Barr/Root campaign to answer questions, I believe my last option for a chance of explanation is an "open letter". This is my attempt, if you have or know of another let me know, or you can fell free to use mine. Please keep other posted when (if) you get a response from the campaign.

To whom it may concern:
I have watched the campaign of Bob Barr with great interest and an equal amount of concern. When I first looked into Mr. Barr the only information I could find was his current "official" releases, upon looking further I became quite alarmed. His stance(s) on the Lautenberg gun ban, his vote on the "Patriot Act", his support of large government institutions, and his less than libertarian voting record while in office. I understand that many, or even most, of his views have changed. Without explanation of the events that lead to this change however, I personally feel insulted, as if viewing slight of hand trickery. I along with many others feel that we deserve a direct and very public explanation of these, especially when asked directly, such as was the case on http://goodsense-va.blogspot.com/2008/06/questions-for-derek-barr.html
We can all get side stepped, generalized answers that skirt on the fringes and sound bites from any party official or candidate. The reason I look to a “third party” is honesty and directness, I do not feel I am receiving either from the campaign of Mr. Barr and Mr. Root.

Please take this as an open letter, pleading for a reason to believe in the candidate before I can pledge my support.
Jay

The Meaning of July Fourth for the Negro, 1852

http://www.historyisaweapon.org/defcon1/douglassjuly4.html

While I debated not using any of my words to detract from this simply amazing speech, I could not resist. As we Americans begin our Independence Day celebrations we tend to look back with a twinge of nostalgia, of the good old days. I am a fan of yesteryear as much as the next guy but remember, the past was not perfect and most of what you "understand" is based solely on perspective. Because I am a WAM30 (White American Male 30 Something) some would argue my perspective is narrow, I often debate my own "perceptions" with myself. I have been fortunate enough to have conversations with veterans since WW2, families who ran with and against "klan mentality", survivors and killers. I do not profess to have an equal perception as the participants, but my life grows hearing their stories, good and bad.
