The morning drive time

As I was driving into work, I refused to listen to commentary on that which I will not speak of. So as I jumped station to station, enough was enough and I pushed play on the CD player and for fans of 80's music Iron Maiden screamed to life.

For those who cannot or will not listen:

You'll take my life but I'll take yours too
You'll fire your musket but I'll run you through
So when you're waiting for the next attack
You'd better stand there's no turning back.
The bugle sounds and the charge begins
But on this battlefield no one wins
The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath
As I plunge on into certain death.
The horse he sweats with fear we break to run
The mighty roar of the Russian guns
And as we race towards the human wall
The screams of pain as my comrades fall
We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground
And the Russians fire another round
We get so near yet so far away
We won't live to fight another day.
We get so close near enough to fight
When a Russian gets me in his sights
He pulls the trigger and I feel the blow
A burst of rounds take my horse below.
And as I lay there gazing at the sky
My body's numb and my throat is dry
And as I lay forgotten and alone
Without a tear I draw my parting groan

Iron Maiden "The Trooper"
Thing is that I have not used the CD player for months and could not have even guessed what was in it, I just knew what would not be in it.Irony is FUNNY!

I could swear there was something important I was going to say today. Oh well nothing of substance seems to be on the comment tables for me today.

In other news SAW V is out on DVD today. Guess I'll be spending the night cleaning AK's, AR's and some other items capable of firing a projectile and using an explosive charge as a propellant.

Spent Saturday watching people spend crazy money on "dream cars" thanks to Barrett-Jackson. I have to admit, they have stepped up in the "service" department to bring the auction back into a class act. Guns, cars and women.... the more the cost the more fun they are.

Been Thinking...

Was doing some reading of all that is happening and being speculated on in the local agenda, felt something was being missed. To all of you who have and are serving, thank you. For all of you who know someone who is thank them. Remember our men, and women who have been away this holiday and missed or lost so much more. Do not wait for a "holiday", remember them always, no matter your political beliefs. Just a short note of a thought I had.

Good Drugs vs. Bad Drugs

The "O" has shown us again his infinite, infantile, wisdom, and himself to be a strong supporter of liberty and individual rights. With one of his newest rumored appointments Sanjay Gupta. Here is a quote from the good doctor:

"Perhaps. But I'm here to tell you, as a doctor, that despite all the talk about the medical benefits of marijuana, smoking the stuff is not going to do your health any good. And if you get high before climbing behind the wheel of a car, you will be putting yourself and those around you in danger."

Now, that is not surprising. But it does piss me off coming after this cut:

"Several recent studies, including a new one from the Scripps Research Institute, show that THC, the chemical in marijuana responsible for the high, can help slow the progress of Alzheimer's disease. (In fact, it seems to block the formation of disease-causing plaques better than several mainstream drugs.) Other studies have shown THC to be a very effective antinausea treatment for people--cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, for example--for whom conventional medications aren't working. And medical cannabis has shown promise relieving pain in patients with multiple sclerosis and reducing intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients."

So even though he acknowledges that there are many benefits medically, the chance that it would be abused is reason to make it illegal for anyone.

His full article is here

More can be read on part of the studies here

I am not pro marijuana per say, just anti legislation. Those that know me know that I am ANTI drug. That is my choice, if you want to IV drip heroin into your brain, I do not care. If you get sick from it, I will not help. I wonder if his "litmus test" would allow these to be legal
-Vicodin

-OxyContin

Here is another little tidbit

-"Five of the top six drugs abused by 12th graders
in the past year were prescription drugs or
cough and cold medicines." from here

The "war on drugs" is equal to the "war on guns" and the "war on poverty." All of these are simply WARS ON LIBERTY. War of control, for control over you and your choices. Benjamin Franklin said "We must all hang together or most assuredly we will all hang separately." This is not to say expect the local NORML chapter to hang with the local Threepers but gentleman we are all in the same fight. Tolerance and Liberty are not just catch phrases. We must not allow legislation of things we would not do ourselves, or things we do will be legislated from us by others.

Stand true, stand hard,

A New Era is Upon Us.

My suburban, stucco community held a business fair this weekend. I figured what the hell, I live in and am part of the community; and I own a business. I figured I would garner a few off glances and MAYBE meet someone of common interest. Holy shit was I wrong, I wanted to snap some photos this being my first official "business" outing, but no time was allotted. It was nice having a busy booth, and that was without having the ability to sell any product. I spent 2+ hours letting my neighbors know that:
  • Guns are available locally.
  • Unlike their previous home states, NO PERMITS are required.
  • Where to shoot locally.
  • Yes NEW shooters are welcomed customers, and YES I will teach you how to shoot and maintain your firearm. Whether you buy from me or not.
  • I had a great day meeting my community, with an interested demographic from the future veterans, to those from WWII.

My throat is dry from talking so much, but I am feeling more positive with the local response to 2nd Amendment than I can say. I normally hate surprises, but this was a welcome one.

Hope every one has a great weekend,

Jason
