A "NEW" Year is Upon Us

Coming back from a self induced break from the news and the Internet to enjoy the Holidays with my family. We are back with some big news that seems like more of the same.

Israeli vs. Palestinian violence is back in the swing. Personally I am a little unsure of this development. While I truly believe in liberty for everyone of every faith, race and demeanor, our own history is one of displacing people from their "homelands." I frequently preach "Peace Through Superior Firepower." I am more concerned with the lasting actions this could lay out. Active military campaigns across the globe, religious "activism" from all sides of the God spectrum, and a Socialist leaning world populace. Remember boys and girls, the "War to End All Wars." I tend to agree with A.J.P. Taylor and his ideas that many small conflicts are what led us into a World War, and allowed a mass of tyrants to rise to power. We have an elected President and Congress with more power than ever and more troubled times than we have seem in generations. We have a media that is hell bent on dissecting the Constitution, and an unsure populace that is begging for "Change" without regard to its repercussions. Be wary of the decisions you make, and the sides you choose. We are in route to a cataclysmic event. Train, learn, prepare. The future is unsure, but the past tells us it WILL be unsteady.
May life continue to bless us this new year.

10+ Days on the "Light"

Have been overly distracted by the holidays and all of the lovely news lately:

-The case has been closed on Adam Walsh. My he and his family finally gain some peace.

-Even though we are in a "recession" and retailers are hurting. Sales are up? WTF?

Don't want to rant so just a note to say I am still alive. If you need a great source for news check out D. Martyn Lloyd-Morgan, The Liberty Sphere. For the latest of the 3% check out Mike over at Sipsey Street.
Until near or past the coming of the Fat Man, take care and have a Merry Christmas.

Book Report(s)

"Neither Predator Nor Prey" by Mark Spungin
Here is the "jacket tease"
In a time of great economic downturn, the US Senate, in thrall to an evil leftist president, ratifies the UN Global Gun Ban Treaty. Congress passes implementing legislation and an aggressive enforcement effort is launched. There are those in Wyoming who decide not to comply with the new laws. The old ways suit them just fine, and they are willing to take whatever measures are necessary to preserve their traditional lifestyle. They have no intention of letting themselves become prey to the predatory treaty enforcers. This is their story.

Great book with a creative prophetic twist to it. I found it to be extremely well written, and did a phenomenal job of skirting around unnecessary, sometimes graphic, details that would not have advanced the story. I had a great opportunity to purchase my copy from the author himself at a local gun show. It should also be noted that Mr. "Boston T. Party" was also there selling his full line, including "Molon Labe." Both of these books are well written stories about resistance against despotism. Pick them BOTH up now if you have not read them yet. It truly was a pleasure to spend a minute with some people who write better than I could hope to.
Great writing guys, soon I will add "Absolved" and have the trifecta of incriminating fiction in my bookcase. Heaven help me if the ban my books and my guns.

Worth Repeating

"We will not go gently . . ."
This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can't be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won't be done. The Founders' Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost. But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.And when we are gone, the scattered, free survivors hiding in the ruins of our once-great republic will sing of our deeds in forbidden songs, tending the flickering flame of individual liberty until it bursts forth again, as it must, generations later. We will live forever, like the Spartans at Thermopylae, in sacred memory.--

While posts are the main reason I "surf" around the blogs, I find extremly good writings in sidebars and profiles. Above is quoted in full from here
